DRY COUNTY on Audiobook

I'm super excited to announce that DRY COUNTY is now available on audiobook. Because the book is told through alternating narrators, there are five different actors (Cassandra Campbell, Charles Constant, Pete Cross, Joel Froomkin, Devon Sorvari) reading. You can get it on Audible or wherever you get your talkin' books.

My novel DRY COUNTY will hit bookstores on October 1st. That night there will be a book launch at City Lit Books from 6:30-8:30. If you're in Chicago or surrounding environs, I hope you'll come by.

DRY COUNTY Comes to France

The French edition of DRY COUNTY, titled AU NOM DU BIEN (or "In the Name of Good") will be released May 2nd. The French get it before the Americans (vive la France!). I'll be heading back to France this summer to do some festivals and signings. More to come...

I'm about to announce some big news in a few days. It concerns my next novel. It concerns the year 2019. That's all I'll say for now, not because I'm a tease, but because I'm paranoid. So I'll wait until all the Is are dotted and all the Ts are crossed, and I'll see you soon.

NO TOMORROW wins the Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere

I'm thrilled and honored to share the good news that I won the big one, France's top award for mystery writing, the Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere, for my novel NO TOMORROW.

Provided you can read French, you can read more about it here. They give out two awards, one for best French novel (which was won by Marion Brunet) and one for best foreign novel. I won for best foreign novel. You're welcome, America.

It's a remarkable honor, and one that I'm going to bask in for a while. If you need me, I'll be chugging a cheap Bordeaux and singing La Marseillaise. 

HELL ON CHURCH STREET Arrives In Italy

I'm thrilled to announce that HELL ON CHURCH STREET is now available in Italy from Edizioni del Capricorno. I look forward to hearing what the good people of Italy make of the book. 

NO TOMORROW in ROLLING STONE (France)

There's a great four-star review of NO TOMORROW in the current French edition of ROLLING STONE. Reviewer Phillippe Blanchet has some nice things to say about the book. If you can read French, or if you just want to plug it into a translator, go check it out.

Bloody Fleury and the French Book Tour 2018

I’m heading back to France next week to promote my latest book SANS LENDEMAIN. While I’m there, I hope to see old friends and meet new friends. If you’re around, please come say hi.

I’ll be at the festival Bloody Fleury from February 2-4 signing books and meeting people. On the third day of the festival, I’ll be on the 3 pm panel “When Violence Generates Violence” with Jean-Luc Bizien and Jacques-Olivier Bosco, moderated by Olivier Vanderbecq.

On February 5^th, at 6 pm I’ll do a public presentation at the bookstore Richer in Angers.

On February 6^th, at 7 pm I’ll do a public presentation at the bookstore L’Embarcadère in Saint-Nazaire.

On February 7^th, at 7 pm I’ll do a public presentation at the bookstore Coiffard in Nantes.

HELL ON CHURCH STREET and the Best Noir Books of All Time

The website Book Scrolling has placed my novel HELL ON CHURCH STREET on its list of the Best Noir Novels of all time. While I'm dubious of lists of the all time greatest anything, I am absolutely gratified to be be included on any list that includes the likes of Cain, Hughes, Simenon, and Thompson. So a big thanks to the folks at Book Scrolling.

It's a funny thing to have HOCS included on this list when the book is currently out of print. As some people may know, the last publisher of HOCS, 280 Steps, went out of business not long ago. I could have immediately placed the book elsewhere, but I want to shop it around. I'm slow about these things, and I'm going to finish the current novel I'm working on so I can sell them as a pair, making the process even slower. I'm satisfied in my own mind that this is the smart way to go about the process of placing HOCS in its next home. 

So I said all of that to say that I'm especially grateful to Book Scrolling for reminding people of my little book. HELL ON CHURCH STREET changed my life. It gave me a career in writing, it took me to France, and it has introduced me to many wonderful people. So I want to right by it. I'm glad it's still out there in the world making a little noise.

After switching publishers in the spring, the book will make its debut over at its new home of 280 Steps, on October 18th. In the years since this book was first released, I've been on one long wild ride, and I'm absolutely thrilled about this new phase in the criminal career of Geoffrey Webb.
